Dr. Michael Clamann hit the ground running upon joining HSRC in May 2018 as a senior human factors engineer. He brings expertise to the Center in the fields of autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, and how the two can be paired with the goal of reducing human error — and ultimately improving safety — on our roadways. Michael’s main research interests includes human-automation interaction and autonomous vehicle technology, specifically, how current and future vehicle technologies can be designed to help improve performance, increase user satisfaction and improve safety. Dr. Randa Radwan Named Director of UNC Highway Safety Research Center
Radwan’s expertise in foundational transportation research and safety standards will lead the Center in an era of emerging technologies
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is pleased to announce that Randa Radwan, Ph.D., has been named the new director of the Highway Safety Research Center. She is the fifth person and first woman to lead one of the nation’s first and most renowned transportation safety research centers, and will take the helm at HSRC on December 3, 2018.
