This newsletter is focused on recent outreach and community engagement activities, and research and staff updates from the UNC Highway Safety Research Center.
We moved (to the other side of the street)
The UNC Highway Safety Research Center’s (HSRC’s) physical office space officially moved to a new building in December 2024. We now work on the first floor of the Cecil G. Sheps Building, a newly renovated open-concept collaborative research space shared with the Injury Prevention Research Center (IPRC) and the Sheps Center for Health Services Research at UNC in Chapel Hill. We’re enjoying the change of scenery infused with fresh energy and collaboration.
Our mailing address is the same, but we hope you’ll find an opportunity to visit us soon in our new digs at 725 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Chapel Hill, NC 27599.
HSRC @ TRB
HSRC jumped into 2025 with meaningful interactions at the Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) 104th Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. We hosted Safety Sunday to enable casual networking for safety focused researchers, and our staff participated in numerous lectern and poster sessions, as well as committee meetings. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello.
Starting the new year with gratitude, appreciation for 2024
Looking ahead: new and ongoing HSRC projects
Did you know? HSRC is 59 and counting!
