Abstract

As major automobile makers move toward converting their major production line into electric vehicles with Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), we are interested in how current traffic networks will change with a traffic mix of conventional and autonomous vehicles. We use SimMobility for our microscopic traffic simulation where individual vehicle’s activity is determined by implementing its behavior model. In doing so, we develop a behavior model of autonomous vehicle to investigate the effect of mixed traffic flow.
