Kari Hancock joined the University of North Carolina (UNC) Highway Safety  Research Center (HSRC) in October 2019 as a research associate, primarily contributing to projects centered on youth and vulnerable road user injury prevention, including Vision Zero for Youth and Watch for Me NC.

Before joining HSRC, Kari worked in development and support of a broad array of public health programs centering on youth and young adult wellness, harm reduction, and behavior change for the University of Vermont and Vermont Department of Health. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Saint Michael’s College with focused work in health literacy and intercultural communication. She has been a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician since 2018.
