The HSRC Diversity Scholarship
The HSRC Diversity Scholarship is an annual $5,000 scholarship designed to support the education of NC undergraduate students who are interested in exploring transportation-related areas of study. The goal of the HSRC Diversity Scholarship is to encourage Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in transportation safety.
A call for applications will be issued each spring, and candidates will be evaluated on essay responses, as well as community involvement, leadership, academic performance, and career goals.
The HSRC Diversity Scholarship is open to all students enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program at any of the University of North Carolina system campuses. Transportation-related areas of study include, but are not limited to: computer science and data analytics, communications, engineering, environmental studies, occupational therapy, city and regional planning, public health and epidemiology, public administration, and psychology.
To be eligible, students must:
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a University of North Carolina system campus.
- Be interested in exploring a transportation-related areas of study.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Be involved in their community.
BIPOC students are strongly encouraged to apply.
