Chris joined the University of North Carolina (UNC) Highway Safety Research Center (HSRC) in 2016 and serves as the embedded reference librarian where she supports the work of the researchers on their various projects.

As the solo librarian, she is responsible for managing an onsite reference collection, aiding in literature reviews, satisfying immediate information needs, and contributing to solving the Center’s knowledge management needs, as well as liaising with main UNC campus libraries.

Chris brings experience from a variety of previous library roles with her. Before coming to HSRC, she completed projects in collection management for the University of Virginia’s Semester at Sea program, analyzed the usage of Universitat Pompeu Fabra’s federated search engine to improve their information literacy tutorials, cataloged at Virginia Commonwealth University, and most recently worked in resource sharing at the University of Richmond.

Chris earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and International Relations at Michigan State University. She completed her master’s degree in Library Science at Syracuse University.
