UN Decade of Action for Road Safety

The United Nations (UN) General Assembly has unanimously proclaimed 2011-2020 as the Decade of Action for Road Safety (Decade of Action), with the goal: "to stabilize and then reduce the forecast level of road traffic fatalities around the world" by 2020. HSRC proudly supports the Decade of Action for Road Safety.

The Road Safety 'Tag'UN Global Road Safety Tag

The yellow diamond-shaped tag is the official global symbol for the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety. Individuals are encouraged to wear the tag to demonstrate support for the Decade of Action, and their personal commitment to be safe on the road. Governments and nonprofits organizations can access and use the symbol freely by accepting terms of use and providing a information about how they will support the Decade of Action.

Launch: May 11, 2011

The international community will officially launch the Decade of Action for Road Safety on Wednesday, May 11, to raise awareness and provide an opportunity for governments and other stakeholders to announce their plans for the Decade. HSRC will be among many groups celebrating the launch in Washington, DC.
