Summer 2016

HSRC welcomes Chris Gomola Mullin and Yudan Wang

HSRC is pleased to welcome the following two new staff members:

Chris Gomola Mullin
Embedded Reference Librarian

Chris Gomola Mullin joins HSRC as the Center’s solo embedded reference librarian. She supports the work of HSRC’s researchers by managing the onsite reference collection, aiding in literature reviews, fulfilling information requests, and contributing to solving HSRC’s knowledge management needs, in addition to liaising with the main UNC campus libraries.

Before coming to HSRC, Chris completed projects in collection management for the University of Virginia’s Semester at Sea program, analyzed the usage of Barcelona, Spain’s Universitat Pompeu Fabra’s federated search engine to improve their information literacy tutorials, catalogued at Virginia Commonwealth University, and most recently worked in resource sharing at the University of Richmond.

Chris earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and International Relations at Michigan State University. She completed her master’s degree in Library Science at Syracuse University.

Yudan Wang
Senior Research Associate

Yudan Wang joins HSRC as a senior research associate. Yudan is primarily interested in understanding the individual, family, community and cultural characteristics that influence the licensing process of young drivers from different ethnic backgrounds. She is the newest member of HSRC’s behavioral research team, which focuses on new drivers, occupant protection and motorcycle research and projects.

Previously, Yudan worked as a project coordinator and data manager for the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She also taught General Statistics at Elon University. Yudan holds a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from UNCG, with a concentration in parenting and adolescent development, and a doctoral minor in Educational Research Methodology.
