Policy Board— Guiding the Center into a New Millennium

Introduction
The Highway Safety Research Center policy board meets twice a year to
provide general guidance and assistance to the Center. Since HSRC Director
Dr. H. Douglas Robertson's arrival, the board has expanded from 10 members
to 16. The majority of the new members are either from the transportation
safety field or the medical community. To further broaden the perspective
of the board, Robertson hopes to add a member from the business community.
The Board held its first meeting of the new century on February 21, and
reviewed HSRC's new strategic plan. Says Robertson, "It is a real pleasure
to work with such an esteemed group of colleagues and professionals. Their
advice has proven to be very helpful."
