Carl Sundstrom, P.E.
Engineering Research Associate
Carl started with HSRC in February 2008. In his role, Carl serves as an engineering research associate, contributing to engineering and research projects surrounding general highway safety and pedestrian and bicycle-related issues. He serves as a Program Manager for the FHWA-sponsored national bicycle and pedestrian clearinghouse, the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center (PBIC), where he supports PBIC program activities such as providing technical assistance, developing content for the Web sites, and synthesizing and distributing research across the nation and internationally.
His previous experience includes several years as a traffic engineer and planner at Glatting Jackson Kercher Anglin, Inc., a community design firm specializing in transportation urban design, in Orlando, Florida. He also worked as an intern with Kittelson & Associates in Portland, Oregon, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Carl is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he received both his bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering.
