What is this all about?

First, it's not another one of those preachy, "know-it-all" sites that try to tell people how to drive, what they should think or how to behave.

Our only purpose to spread the word about some really positive things we've learned about teenage drivers, which most people don't know. They may surprise you.

Between the Fall of 2006 and 2008, 19,872 teenage drivers were observed at high schools across North Carolina. This web site reports some of what we have learned.

It turns out that the common belief that teenagers spend much of their time talking or texting while driving is simply wrong. It's an image that's been created by news reports, advertisers and TV shows, but it's far from reality.

Perhaps the single most interesting thing we discovered was this:

91% of the time, teenage drivers are off the phone while driving

We want everyone — teens, parents, teachers, the media, police — to understand this simple fact and to know where it came from. So we're having some contests to help get the word out.

Check out the contest section; see pictures of recent winners.
